Station Ground: 130 years beside the line

Ervin Town were three years old when they moved to a rented field beside the railway line in 1896. The landlord was the railway company, and the ground took its name from the station across the road.

The first stand went up in 1921. The main stand you sit in today, with its red seats and corrugated roof, opened in 1967, and the trains still run past it on the embankment on matchdays. Station Ground holds 16,000.

To mark 130 years, the club is collecting supporters’ photos and programmes from every decade for an exhibition in the main stand concourse. Bring yours to the club shop before the end of November.
