Kwame Adebayo, 21, leads the line and the scoring
Five league goals in 16 games, three of them headers. Kwame Adebayo is the club’s top scorer and, at 21, its youngest regular in attack.
He arrived from Senegal as a 17-year-old and spent two seasons with the Under-21s. This season he is the first name on the team sheet, and his goal a minute after half time against Ashbourne turned a level game into a 3-1 win.
“He’s 1.89 and he attacks the ball like he’s 2 metres,” Joe Clayton said. “But the goals come from the work. He’s the last one off the training pitch on a Thursday, heading crosses from the academy lads.”
Connor Bradshaw and Ben Ashworth are one behind him on four each. Adebayo has three assists too, level with Charlie Kershaw.
