Castlebridge City Women open their season at Castle Meadow

For the first time the Women’s side opens its season at the main ground. Castlebridge City Women play Redcliffe Albion Women at Castle Meadow on Sunday 4 October, kick-off 1pm.

Entry is £5 for adults and free for under-16s, and anyone with a first-team ticket from the Lowbridge game gets in for nothing. The Main Stand and the East Stand family section are open.

“The squad has trained on the same pitch as the men for three seasons,” head coach Hannah Whitlock said. “Playing the opener here is the next step. We’d love to see the East Stand full.”

Last season the side finished second and scored 41 goals in 18 league games. Eleven of this year’s 24-player squad came through the club’s girls’ academy.
