Munro and Garside: two graduates, one dressing room

Niall Munro is 18. Jordan Garside is 19. Both came through the academy, both train with the first team every day, and one of them has already scored.

Garside’s goal came six minutes into the home game with Castlebridge City in August, a low near-post finish after a scramble in the six-yard box. Harwick lost that one 2-1, but the forward kept his place in the squad and hasn’t given it back.

Munro is a different kind of player: a small, quick midfielder who wants the ball in tight spaces. “He’s not afraid of the senior lads, which is half the battle,” Thorne said. “The other half is being ready when the chance comes. He’s close.”
